Rockville, Md (KM) Montgomery County Police are investigating a murder-suicide in Rockville.
On Thursday, August 29th at 7:50 AM, officers responded to the 14900 block of Southlawn Lane for reports of a shooting. They found Civil Jean Calixte, 60, suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Police and medics provided aid to Calixte who was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A witness told police the suspect got away in a gray Toyota Tacoma so a lookout was broadcast. The vehicle was located near the intersection of Avery and Norbeck Roads. An officer conducting a felony traffic stop heard a gunshot. Police say the suspect identified as Dario Villard, 53, was found inside the truck with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Villlard was taken to a local hospital where he later died. A handgun was recovered inside the truck.
The Montgomery County Police’s Major Crimes Division says Villard had an active arrest warrant from Laurel Police for attempted 1st-degree murder on Wednesday, August 28th. . Laurel Police detectives responded to the scene, and connected the gray Toyota Tacoma with a domestic-related shooting the night before.
The bodies of both Calixte and Villard were transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies.
Police say Villard’s death is being investigated as a suicide.
