Frederick, Md (KM) A Frederick man was sentenced on Monday for a fatal shooting last year. Jeffery Whitney Bryan, Jr., 32, was given life in prison with all but 40 years suspended. He will also be placed on five years of supervised probation.
Bryan pleaded guilty in July of this year to 1st-degree murder for the shooting death of Tayquan Cornell Palmer, 28.
On June 30th, of last year Bryan and Palmer were attending a small gathering at the Mountain City Elks Lodge when they got into an argument. Bryan left the party, but came back. He waited for Palmer to get away from the crowd,. He then shot him at 170 All Saints Street in Frederick. .
Medics were called to the scene, and CPR was performed. But Palmer was pronounced dead at the scene.
Bryan was indicted for the murder on December 15th, 2023. He agreed to turn himself in to Frederick Police on February 7th, 2024.
