Gray passed away on September 23rd.
FREDERICK, Md. – Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater and Council President Brad Young
issued the following statement on the death of former Board of County Commissioners President David
Gray.
“We were saddened to learn of the passing of David Gray. He devoted decades to
serving our community, not only on the Board of County Commissioners, but
also on a wide range of boards and councils. David led the Board of County
Commissioners with grace, civility, and a real passion for Frederick County.
During his final term in office, he was often the voice of reason, standing up for
residents, for open and transparent government, and for doing the right thing.
David’s character rose above politics. He will be missed.”
The Frederick County flag at Winchester Hall will be flown at half-staff now through Sunday,
September 29, in memory of Mr. Gray.
