Hagerstown Police Arrest Suspect In Shots-Fired Incident

He was located during a traffic stop.

Hagerstown, Md (KM) A suspect has been taken into custody following a shots-fired incident late Tuesday morning in Hagerstown.

Police say at around 11:15 AM, officers were dispatched to the Seven Star Mini-Mart in the 200 block of West Franklin Street. They met two women who said the were struck by a vehicle. pulling into the parking lot.

Their investigation revealed a man who was with them pulled out a handgun and fired one shot at the striking vehicle, a Toyota Camry   The driver of the Camry drove away, and the shooter fled the scene on foot.

Officers tracked the suspect with city surveillance, but were unable to locate him. But detectives and officers were able to identify him, and learned he was in a vehicle which was pulled over in the 100 block of North Potomac Street. The suspect was arrested without incident.

Police say they will release the suspect’s name after he’s been formally charged. They also says this is an ongoing investigation.
