Name Of The Suspect Involved In A Stabbing In Williamsport Last Week Has been Released

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says he’s still recovering at a medical center.

Hagerstown, Md (KM) The name of the suspect who stabbed two people in Williamsport last Thursday, and lunged at two deputies with a knife has been released. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says it’s Ezekiel Naashon Keyes, 20, of Williamsport. He is charged with attempted 2nd-degree murder, two counts of 1st-degree assault, four counts of 2nd-degree assault and two counts reckless endangerment.

Authorities say Keyes is currently in serious but stable condition at an undisclosed medical center.

The Sheriff’s Office says the two people who were stabbed in Williamsport last Thursday were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injures. .

The Sheriff’s Office says two deputies confronted Keyes last Thursday, and ordered him to drop the knife. He refused and said they would have to kill him. Authorities say he lunged at the two deputies with the knife. One deputies used his taser on Keyes, but Keyes continued. A second deputy fired his service weapon, striking Keyes

The two deputies are identified as Master Deputy Cole Smith, and Deputy Aaron Gavin.

The incident remains under investigation.
