Cobb Named New Director For Frederick Health Hospice

He’s the third director since Frederick Health Hospice began in 1980.

Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Health Hospice has a new director. Korey Cobb has been named to the position. He is the third director since Hospice began in 1980.

Cobb recently served as the Chief Operating Officer for Healthworks for Northern Virginia, a Federally Qualified Health Care Center in Leesburg, Virginia.

In a statement, Cobb says joining Frederick Hospice as the Director  is “deeply meaningful” to him. “Frederick has always been more than just a community—it is home,” he says in the  statement. “I am committed to ensuring that every  family has access to compassionate, dignified care when they need it most. Together, we will continue building a future where every individual and family receives the support hey need during some of life’s most important moments.”

A statement from Frederick Health Hospice says Cobb is a graduate of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce 2023 Leadership Frederick class. In 2021, Cobb was named an outstanding young professional in the Frederick County Office of Economic Development’s “Top 50 Under 40” list.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Maryland, and his MBA from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg. Cobb also serves on the Board of Associates at Hood College, and remains actively involved with several non-profit organizations which support the Frederick Community.

Heather Kirby, who is the Vice President of Integrated Care Delivery and Chief Population Health Officer at Frederick Health, helped lead the search committee for a new director. “”Korey’s strong background in executive leadership and business development, combined with his passion for health care, will position him well to lead hospice’s efforts in Frederick and Montgomery Counties,:” says Kirby, in a statement. “He prides himself on creating a positive team culture, a strong sense of community involvement, and volunteerism. It is our belief that Korey’s experience and skills will perfectly round out Frederick Health’s talented leadership team.”
