Frederick, Md (KM) Frederick Health Hospital has picked a new President and CEO. She is Dr. Cheryl Cioffi, DNP,RN, NEA,-BC, FACHE, who is currently the Chief Administrative Officer at FHH.
Cioffi has been part of the hospital for nearly three decades, moving through various leadership positions, including Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer. She started her health care career with direct patient care, according to the hospital in a news release. It says Dr. Cioffi brings that unique perspective to her leadership position.
“After a thorough national review, the search committee affirmed what we long recognized. Cheryl is the right leader to guide Frederick Health Hospital into the future,” says Darryl Boffman, Vice Chairman of the hospital Board of Directors and Chair of the Executive Transition Committee, in a statement.
Boffman further continues. “Cheryl possesses the strategic vision, operational expertise, and leadership experience that made her the ideal choice to serve as our next President and CEO.”
In its news release announcing Dr. Cioffi’s appointment, FHH says she will advance excellence in patient care, strengthen community partnerships and ensure financial stability. At the same, the hospital says Cioffi will support Frederick Health Hospital’s mission to positively impact the well-being of every person in the local community.
Dr. Cioffi will take over her new position on July 1st, 2025. . The hospital says its current President, Tom Kleinhanzl, will retire on October 31st, 2025. But will serve out the balance of his term as CEO Emeritus.
