Personnel found a kayak similar to the one used by the missing kayaker.

Walkersville, Md (KM) Fire and rescue crews along with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office, Loudon County Fire and Rescue and Maryland Natural Resources Police conducted a search of the Monocacy River Wednesday afternoon for a missing kayaker.
According to the Frederick Scanner Facebook page, a person called Emergency Communications just after 12-noon, and reported an individual went on a kayak on the Monocacy from Links Bridge Road. An empty boat was found near Devibiss Bridge Road.
A search was launched along the river, and included the use of a drone. Rescuers located a boat similar to the one belonging by the missing kayaker in the area of the Route 26 bridge.
Crews searched areas such as near LInks Bridge Road and Reichs Ford Road, but no one was found.
During the time of the search, Devilbiss Bridge Road was closed to traffic to allow emergency personnel to safely conduct the search.
By 3:30 PM, the search was called off, and the scene was turned over to Natural Resources Police.
