Two People Extricated Following A Vehicle Crash In Frederick

One was flown to Shock Trauma.

Frederick, Md (KM) Route 40 West (Baltimore National Pike) at Bowers Road in Frederick was closed for a time Thursday afternoon following a vehicle crash.

The Frederick Scanner Facebook page reports that fire and rescue crews were dispatched just at 3:19 PM to the area, and found two vehicles involved in the crash.   Both were on their wheels, and one was over an embankment.

They also found two individuals trapped. Both of them of them were extricated. One was taken to Meritus Medical Center by ambulance; the second was flown out to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma by a State Police helicopter which landed and took off from the Frederick Town Mall.   A third patient was evaluated at the scene.
