Montgomery County Police Arrested Five Teens After Accident And Recover Stolen Vehicles

Montgomery County Police have arrested five teens following a crash tied to a string of car thefts

Gaithersburg, Md. (DG) – A group of teenagers is facing charges after a car theft spree ended in a crash in Montgomery County.

On Tuesday, June 3rd, around 7:30 p.m., police responded to a collision at Heathfield Drive and Parkland Drive. Witnesses reported multiple teens fleeing the scene. Officers found three unoccupied, still-running vehicles—a Kia and two Hyundais—all confirmed stolen.

While investigating, police spotted another Kia speeding away. The vehicle stopped at Weller Road, where five teens—ages 13 to 15—got out and were quickly taken into custody. That car was also reported stolen. Officers found knives and car break-in tools on the suspects.

All five were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and later released to their guardians. Four stolen vehicles in total were recovered.
