Frederick, Md (KM) Jury selection got underway on Monday in the trial of Santos Felipe Reyes Valle, 40, of Frederick. He is charged with 1st-degree murder and 2nd-degree murder for a fatal stabbing which occurred in the Home Depot parking lot off of McCain Drive in Frederick two years ago.
On May 17th, 2023, at around 9:44 PM, police were called to the scene for reports of an injured man. They found Jose Pedro Hernandez, 40, with stab wounds . He was transported to Frederick Health Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Reyes Valle was arrested for Hernandez’ murder on May 31st.
Reyes Valle’s trial was scheduled to get underway in January of this year, but the judge declared a mistrial when some sworn and dismissed jurors began discussing the case among themselves during the jury selection process.
