Walkersville, Md (KM) A Walkersville man has been charged with 1st-degree murder, 2nd-degree murder, 2nd-degree assault and false imprisonment. Pavel Obambe, 35, was arrested on Tuesday.
The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a home in the 8400 block of Foresight Lane in Walkersville on Sunday morning at 10:05 for an unconscious person. Christine Liboula, 68. was pronounced dead. . An autopsy by the State Medical Examiner’s Office determined the manner of death was homicide, and the cause of death was consistent with strangulation and blunt force trauma.
Investigators say on Saturday night, June 21st, Obambe assaulted another woman in the residence where all three individuals resided. . Liboula attempted to intervene. The victim left the home. Liboula remained inside. . She was found deceased the next day by family members. .
Obambe, who is Liboula’s son-in-law, was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center after he was formally charged.
The Frederick Police and the Child Advocacy Center assisted with this investigation.
