Frederick Police Investigating Incident Involving Officer-Involved Shooting

No-one was injured

Frederick, Md. (DG) – Frederick Police are investigating an early morning incident involving an officer-involved shooting.

Around 2:50 a.m. Sunday, police responded to Mulberry Court for a suspicious vehicle linked to earlier break-in reports. When an officer attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled down a dead-end street. As the officer gave commands, the driver accelerated toward him, prompting the officer to fire his weapon.

The vehicle, hit by gunfire, was later found abandoned nearby. No one was hurt.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office is now handling the investigation, and the officer is on administrative leave.
