Frederick Police Arrest Man In Connection With Two Armed Robberies

The robberies occurred on West 7th Street and the second, about one hour later, on Wormans Mill Road.

Frederick, MD – The Frederick Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division has arrested a man in connection to two armed robberies that occurred on July 22, 2025.

At approximately 1:01 p.m., officers of the Frederick Police Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of W Seventh Street, for a reported armed robbery. Responding officers made contact with the victim, who reported that an unknown male blocked her car door, physically forced her down into the passenger seat area, and demanded her purse. The suspect threatened to shoot the victim, though no firearm was displayed. The victim refused to surrender her purse but complied with the suspect’s demands by handing over an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then fled the scene.

Detectives and officers quickly reviewed security footage, which captured the suspect driving an older model silver or white Volvo hatchback. The suspect was seen fleeing toward the rear of the complex near Ashley’s Furniture.

While still gathering evidence at the scene, officers were dispatched at approximately 2:10 p.m. to another establishment located in the 7800 block of Wormans Mill Road for a second armed robbery with a similar method of operation. The second victim reported that a male approached her vehicle, pressed an unknown object against her head, and demanded money. She gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash before he fled. The suspect description was consistent with the earlier incident.

Shortly after the second robbery, Master Police Officer Clinton observed a matching Volvo hatchback in the parking lot of Walmart at 2424 Monocacy Blvd. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver was identified as Eugene Rilla Facon. Facon matched the description provided by both victims and was wearing the same clothing observed in surveillance footage.

A search of Facon and his vehicle yielded evidence of the crimes. Facon was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center (FCADC) for booking and processing.
