One suspect arrested.
Westminster, Md (KM ) A Red Lion, Pennsylvania man is being held without bond at the Carroll County Detention Center following a traffic stop and collision in Westminster. Braydon Roberts, 19, is charged with 1st-degree assault, three counts of 2nd-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment and numerous traffic offenses.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office say just after 12-midnight on Tuesday, deputies saw a gray Nissan sedan traveling at a high rate of speed along Routes 27 and 482. Deputies tried to stop the vehicle, but it sped away.
The vehicle was located in Westminster at Gentry Court. Officers attempted to enter a cul-de-sac where the Nissan was located, but driver rammed two Westminster Police vehicles and a Sheriff’s vehicle. The Nissan was disabled.
The driver and three passengers fled the scene on foot but were apprehended. Roberts was taken to Carroll Hospital Center for an evaluation, and then transported to Carroll County Central Booking.
One the occupants was a juvenile who was taken to the Sheriff’s Office, but later released following a consultation with the Department of Juvenile Services..
Two Westminster Police Officers were taken to Carroll Hospital Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The case remains under investigation, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
