Montgomery County Mother Indicted For Murder In Disappearance of Two Children Missing Since 2014

Rockville, MD. (DG) – Catherine Hoggle is back in custody after a Montgomery County grand jury indicted the 38-year-old on two counts of murder in connection with the disappearance of her two children.

Sarah Hoggle, 3, and Jacob Hoggle, 2, were last seen on September 7, 2014. Their mother was reportedly the last person with them.

Police and partner agencies have conducted extensive searches over the years, but the children remain missing.

Hoggle was originally charged with child neglect and obstruction before being found incompetent to stand trial due to mental health issues. She spent years in a psychiatric facility and was released last month.

Following her release, State’s Attorney John McCarthy convened a grand jury. Hoggle was arrested Friday and is being held pending a bond hearing.

The case is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County or call 1-866-411-TIPS. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered.
