Wolfsville, Md (KM) Some career personnel have been added to the Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Company.
Frederick County Fire and Rescue Services Chief Tom Coe says since July 28th, one captain, one technician, and two fire fighters/EMT (Emergency Medical Technicians) have been assigned to the Wolfsville station. They are on duty Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM until 6:00 PM.
‘It’s a partner with our volunteer responders to improve the services we provide and response times that occur out of Station 21,” Chief Coe says.
Station 21 is the Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Hall located at 12464 Wolfsville Road in Myersville.
The fire company had been all volunteer for a long time.
“We are excited to get out into the community into the schools, the businesses, the libraries, and to meet our community members and our visitors before their time of need,” says Krystal Lowry, the Station Commander at the Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Company. “We are looking forward to serving and building trust in this rural community.”
The Division of Fire and Rescue Services says in a news release that this project has been three years in the making . It also calls it’s a “true collaboration” between career and volunteer personnel, “blending experience, passion and tradition with new support and resources.”
