30-year-old man from Bowie killed in accident
Rockville, Md. (DG) – Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that took place Saturday evening in Brookeville.
At around 6:20 p.m. on August 9, officers and rescue personnel responded to the 22000 block of New Hampshire Avenue following reports of a two-vehicle collision.
Authorities say 30-year-old Patrick Smith of Bowie was riding a Triumph Rocket motorcycle northbound when, for reasons still unknown, he lost control and collided head-on with a BMW traveling southbound.
Despite immediate lifesaving efforts at the scene, Smith was pronounced dead. The driver of the BMW was not injured.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and ask anyone with information to contact them.
