New Windsor, Md (KM) The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause and origin of a barn fire in New Windsor Tuesday afternoon.
Fire officials say at around 12:30 PM, fire fighters from Carroll and Frederick Counties were dispatched to 3901 Hawk Hill Road at ColdspringsĀ Farms, and found a large barn “fully involved”: in flames, threatening nearby structures and silos. The fire went to a second alarm, and additional personnel and apparatus were brought to the scene.
There are no fire hydrants in that area so water had to be ferried in. Heavy machinery was also brought in to help with overhaul.
Fire officials say there were no injuries, and no livestock was lost.
A total of 80 fire fighters from Carroll and Frederick Counties responded to the scene, along with 36 pieces of apparatus.
