Shooter has been identified as Curtis Edward Bailey.
Charles Town, WV –On August 20th, at approximately 11:48 a.m., the Charles Town Police Department responded to a shooting incident in the 300 block of West Liberty Street.
Officers, who were clearing a call for service in the area, heard shots being fired and immediately responded to the scene.
Responding officers located a male victim who sustained a gunshot wound and administered first aid until the arrival of EMS. That individual was subsequently transported to a local medical facility for treatment.
During the initial investigation, it was learned a male fired multiple rounds into another vehicle, occupied by the victim.
A suspect in this incident, identified as Curtis Edward Bailey, was developed. The location of Bailey is currently unknown with multiple resources being utilized to locate him. Bailey has been entered into NCIC as a wanted person with extradition authorized.
Bailey is wanted for attempted murder, five counts of wanton endangerment, and felon in possession of a firearm. Anyone with information related to this incident, including the location of Bailey, is urged to contact the Charles Town Police Department at 304-725-8484 or 304-725-2714.
