Man Arrested By Frederick Police On Weapons, Drug Charges

Police say he had a manufactured handgun without a serial number.

Frederick, Md (KM) A traffic stop Wednesday evening in Frederick led to the arrest of a man on weapons and drug charges.

At around 8:30 PM, police say officers patrolling in the area of Hamilton Street stopped a white Chevrolet Malibu leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Because of reports of drug activity in that area, officers asked that a drug canine be brought to the scene to do a sniff. The dog indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle.

A search was conducted, and officers say they found suspected crack cocaine, and a Glock-style nine millimeter handgun. It was equipped with a Glock Conversion Device which would allows the weapon to be fired in full automatic.

Malkin Kevin Martin, 21, is charged with having a loaded handgun in a vehicle, having a handgun in a vehicle, possession of a firearm without a serial number and possession of drugs.

He was taken to the Frederick County  Adult Detention Center.
