Leesburg, VA (DG) – A Virginia man is facing multiple charges after police say he secretly filmed people at several stores across the state. Leesburg authorities say 36-year-old Tate Dietrich filmed an individual at the Target on Edwards Ferry Road on June 28 without their knowledge or consent, leaving the store before officers arrived.
Through their investigation, detectives identified four victims connected to the incident and discovered Dietrich had carried out similar acts in stores in Bedford and Roanoke County. On August 11, police executed a search warrant at his Bedford residence, arresting him and seizing evidence for analysis.
By August 21, authorities had obtained four warrants charging Dietrich with unlawful filming. He is now being held at Blue Ridge Regional Jail in Lynchburg. Police say the case remains under investigation, and they are continuing to look into the full extent of his actions across the region.
