Suspect is being charged with first-degree murder.
Frederick, MD (JK) – Montgomery County Police have arrested a Silver Spring man in connection with a 2022 homicide at the Summit Hills apartment complex.
On December 2, 2022, officers responded to the 8500 block of 16th Street around 3 a.m. for a reported shooting. They found 29-year-old Nathaniel Potts suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died.
Following a multi-year investigation, detectives identified 47-year-old Jason Duane Moore as the suspect. A warrant charging Moore with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in a felony, and assault was issued last week.
Moore was arrested Tuesday without incident by Montgomery County Police and the U.S. Marshals Task Force and is being held at the Central Processing Unit.
