Frederick Man Arrested For Robbing A Sheetz Store

He was apprehended early Wednesday morning.

Frederick, Md (KM) A Frederick man has been arrested for an early morning robbery at the Sheetz Store at 6050 Buckeystown Pike in Frederick. The Sheriff’s Office says Jerry Garrett Piercy, 65, is charged with armed robbery, robbery and theft between $100 to under $1500.

At around 3:22 AM on Wednesday, deputies were dispatched to the store for an armed robbery. They learned that the suspect entered the establishment, and appeared to have a gun under his shirt. He demanded cash before leaving the store.

The Sheriff’s Office and Frederick Police began a search of the area  and located a man fitting the suspect’s description at Center and Washington Streets. He tried to flee, but was captured. .

The man did not have a gun.

Piercy was taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
