Anyone who plans to come needs to call ahead to make an appointment, The number to call 301-600-1733.
The Frederick County Health Department says all residents should get a flu shot. It says the vaccine is widely available in the community so the Health Department is prioritizing children who are uninsured.
For parents or guardians who bring their children to the flu vaccination clinic, children from six months to 17 years of age need to be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older. If a parent or guardian will not accompany their children to the clinic, they need to send a note with the adult accompanying their children giving them authorization to have the children vaccinated.. And all children are required to remain at the clinic following vaccination for observation.
The Health Department says those most susceptible to flu are children younger that five years of age; adults 65 and older; pregnant women; people with health issues such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease; and people who take medications that weaken their immune system such as chemotherapy.
