Johnsville, Md (KM) A two-story farm house in Johnsville was damaged by fie Thursday morning.

At around 9:22 AM, fire fighters were dispatched to the house fire in the 16100 block of Green Valley Road where they saw heavy smoke coming from two floors of the home. “They initiated an attack on it. Made entry, did a primary search that was negative,” says Sarah Campbell, spokeswoman for Frederick County  Fire and Rescue Services.

She says fire fighters had the fire under control by 9:46 AM, and it was fully extinguished by 10:29 AM

One fire fighter was injured. “Before entering the house, kind of on arrival, a fire fighter sustained minor injuries pulling hose lines,” says Campbell. “But they were transported to the hospital, non-life threatening injuries.”

She also says there was no one home at the time of the fire.

Fire marshals were on the scene on Thursday,   conducting an investigation into  the cause of the fire, and conducting a damage estimate.

A number of roads in that area were closed while fire fighters worked to put out the flames.
