It concerns the proposed Clyde Young Road Solar facility
Baltimore, Md (KM) Citizens are invited to testify at an upcoming public hearing on a proposed five-megawatt, solar generating facility in Woodsboro. The Maryland Public Service Commission will be holding that hearing on Tuesday, October 14th beginning at 6:00 PM at the Rocky Ridge Volunteer Fire Company at 13527 Motters Station Road.. It will be held before Chief Public Utility Law Judge Case Lawrence.
In February, 2025,, Clyde Young Road Solar 1 LLC applied to the PSC for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) to build the facility on 21 acres of a 37-acre property located 12208 Clyde Young Road in Woodsboro..
The PSC says in addition to hearing public comments, the hearing will also feature a presentation by the applicant, and brief statements by the parties: including the Power Plan Research Program of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, and the Commission’s technical staff.
This is the second hearing held this year on the project. The first one was in June, 2025.

Written comments can also be mailed to the PSC through November 7th, 2025; and electronically through the Commission’s online portal at https://www.psc.state.md.us/make-a-public-comment.
