One Pa. State Trooper Who Was Shot Wednesday Released From The Hospital

The other’s condition has been upgraded from ‘critical’ to ‘serious.’

Chambersburg, Pa (KM) The Pennsylvania State Police say one of their troopers who was shot Wednesday night near Chambersburg has been released from the hospital; and the second trooper’s condition has been upgraded from critical to serious.

The two troopers were involved in a vehicle pursuit along southbound Interstate 81 in Franklin County, following a vehicle whose occupants robbed a Dick’s Sporting Goods Store on Lincoln Highway East near Chambersburg. Police were able stop the vehicle along I-81 using a tire deflation device.

The driver of the vehicle identified as Lamar Lorenzo Foy, 31, fired on police; troopers returned fire, killing Foy.

Two women in the vehicle got out and surrendered to police. They’re identified as Giani McGowan and Amir Swift. Both are charged with theft.

Authorities conducted a search of the vehicle, and found THC, plastic bags filled with powder, money and scales.
