Franklin County, PA (JK) – Two Pennsylvania state troopers remain in critical condition after a police chase and shootout in Franklin County that left one suspect dead.

The incident began Wednesday afternoon when troopers responded to a reported retail theft at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Guilford Township. Security footage shows three suspects, including 31-year-old Lamar Lorenzo Foy, stealing more than $1,000 in merchandise and loading it into a green Chevrolet van with a Maryland license plate.

Troopers spotted the van traveling southbound on Interstate 81 and initiated a pursuit. Assisting officers deployed a tire deflation device near Exit 3, bringing the vehicle to a stop. A search of the van uncovered a large quantity of THC, several bags of unknown powders, unmarked capsules, scales, cash, and other drug paraphernalia. Both wounded officers, identified as Troopers Pack and Amarose, were airlifted to the hospital and remain in “critical and serious condition,” according to state police..
