Shrapnel Injuries Reported After Pressurized Water Tank Blast.

HALFWAY, MD (JK) — Two adult men were hospitalized at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore following an explosion involving a pressurized water tank on a concrete truck at the Thomas, Bennett & Hunter Cement Plant on Hopewell Road in Washington County.
According to Halfway Fire Chief Jamie Drawbaugh, both victims suffered shrapnel injuries to the face but did not have burn injuries. Maryland State Police Troopers transported the patients to Baltimore for treatment.
The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m., prompting multiple emergency responders to the scene, including at least two Maryland State Police Trooper helicopters. Maryland Occupational Safety and Health is investigating the cause of the explosion.
