Annapolis, Md (KM) Battling disinformation and misinformation is a constant process, particularly during an election year. The Maryland State Board of Elections has launched “Defenders of Democracy.” Jared DeMarinis, State Administrator of Elections, says residents who come across inaccurate information can report ti to the Board of Elections website. He says the Board will then put out the correct information.
“When you see false, misleading or just plan lies about elections, election results, don’t ignore it. Please report it,” he says. “It’s vital for us to correct the record.”

During election years, there could be false claims regarding voter registration, polling locations, mail-in ballots or election results. DeMarinis says citizens should make https://elections.maryland.gov their number-one source for election information
“We want everyone to participate in battling mis- and disinformation,” he says.
