New Market, Md (KM) Maryland State Police are conducting a death investigation in Frederick County.
Troopers say at around 4:00 PM on Wednesday, November 5th, officers with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources found what looked like skeletal remains in a wooded area along Interstate 70 at Green Valley Road near New Market.
Personnel from the Frederick Barrack took over the investigation. Also dispatched to the scene were the State Police Criminal Enforcement Division and the Homicide Unit. The Forensic Sciences Division also responded to process the scene for evidence.
The remains were taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
State Police say at this time, the identity and gender of the deceased are unknown.
