Carroll County authorities say they confiscated a large amount of cocaine, fentanyl.

Westminster, Md (KM) Authorities in Carroll County have arrested a Westminster man suspected of distributing illicit narcotics. Jason Samuel Davis, 40, was taken into custody following a traffic stop last Thursday in the area of Maryland Routes 140 and 91. A police canine, which was brought to the scene to a sniff for drugs, indicated the presence of narcotics. The Sheriff’s Office says Davis’ vehicle contained 45 grams of cocaine and 48 fentanyl capsules weighing about 23 grams.
Davis also had an active warrant for 1st-degree assault. He is also charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl; possession with intent to distribute cocaine; two counts of possession and two counts of possession of contraband in a place of confinement.
He was taken into custody and is being held without bond.
At a later time, the The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Response Team executive a search and seizure warrant at Davis’ home at 186 West Main Street, Apartment B.. Detectives found an additional 21 grams of cocaine, scales and paraphernalia.
Authorities say the total amount of drugs confiscated is about 89 grams.
This investigation was a coordinated effort between the Carroll County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Sheriff’s Office Drugs and Firearms Task Force and the Pro-Active Community Enforcement which consists of personnel from the Sheriff’s Office, and the Westminster and Taneytown Police Departments.
