Frederick, Md (KM) There is a vacancy on the Frederick County Board of Education. Nancy Allen has submitted her resignation which is effective on December 1st. Allen was elected to the Board of Education in 2022.
Under state, law, when there is a vacancy on the School Board, the County Executive is responsible for appointing someone to fill that position. That appointment needs to be confirmed by the County Council.
Persons who want to serve on the Board of Ed should be residents of Frederick County, and registered voters,
Applications must be submitted no later than 4:00 PM on Wednesday, December 10th.
The one chosen for the Board will serve out the remainder of Allen’s term which ends in December 2026
