The two-vehicle collision happened just after 1:30 in the 3000 block of Littlestown Pike, involving a dump truck and a Dodge Ram pickup.
Westminster, Md. (DG) – A Sunday afternoon crash on Littlestown Pike turned deadly in Carroll County, claiming the life of a 73-year-old woman.
Maryland State Police say the two-vehicle collision happened just after 1:30 in the 3000 block of Littlestown Pike, involving a dump truck and a Dodge Ram pickup. Investigators believe the dump truck crossed the double yellow center line and struck the pickup head-on.
The pickup driver, Sandra Stigler of Littlestown, was pronounced dead at the scene. The dump truck driver, 52-year-old Matthew Dell of Manchester, was not hurt. The roadway remained closed for several hours as crews and investigators worked.
The crash remains under investigation.
