Kensington Teen Arrested on Multiple Child Pornography Charges

Investigation began after national cyber tip; authorities continue to seek information from the public.

Gaithersburg, MD (JK) – Montgomery County Police have arrested an 18-year-old Kensington man on ten counts of possession of child pornography following a months-long investigation. The case began in February 2025 when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported a social media account suspected of hosting illegal material.

The Maryland Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force referred the tip to Montgomery County detectives, who traced the account to a Kensington residence and identified the user as Evan Morrison. In early October, officers executed a search warrant at Morrison’s Nicholson Lane home, recovering multiple items of evidentiary value. A second warrant later authorized examination of electronic devices seized from the residence.

An arrest warrant was issued on November 25, and Morrison was taken into custody on November 30. He had been volunteering as a firefighter and EMT with the Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad and Bethesda Fire Department but has been removed from all activities.

Montgomery County Police say the investigation remains active and are asking anyone with information to contact the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400.
