Westminster, Md (KM) The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a one-vehicle crash Tuesday night that claimed the life of a teenager.
Deputies, and fire and rescue personnel responded at around 9:47 PM to the area of Jasontown Road near the intersection with John Hyde Road in Westminster. . That’s where a Ford F-250 went off the roadway, traveled down an embankment, overturned and came to rest on its roof partially in Little Pipe Creek. Authorities say the driver failed to negotiate a left hand turn.
The driver, a 16-year-old boy, and three other teenagers were taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma. Another 16-year-old boy, who was a front seat passenger, was taken to Carroll Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Sheriff’s Office’s Crash Reconstruction Team was sent to the scene. Authorities say charges, if appropriate, will be determined following the Crash Reconstruction Team’s investigation, and consultation with the Carroll County State’s Attorney’s Office.
