Frederick, Md (KM) Citizens are invited to come to a Historic Preservation Tax Credit Workshop on Monday, January 12rh. It will take place at the C. Burr Artz Library Community Room beginning at 6:00 PM. The Library is located at 110 East Patrick Street in Frederick. .
Those who attend can learn about programs available to support the rehabilitation of historic properties, including the Maryland Historic Preservation Tax Credit Program which encourages the preservation and rehabilitation of historic properties throughout the state by providing a 20 percent tax credit to qualified rehabilitation projects. . This tax credit covers both owner-occupied and commercial buildings.
Frederick County has also enacted a new Historic Preservation tax credit for properties that have been locally designated by the County, the City of Frederick and the Town of New Market.
This workshop will be hosted by the Maryland Historical Trust, the City of Frederick Planning Department and the Frederick County Division of Planning and Permitting.
