Residents invited to share input on investments tied to future data center development.

Frederick, MD (JK) – Frederick County officials are inviting residents to participate in two public listening sessions focused on community benefits associated with data center development.
County Executive Jessica Fitzwater announced the sessions as part of the county’s ongoing effort to engage the public following recent legislation that made data centers the most heavily regulated industry in Frederick County. The county has reduced the amount of land available for data center development and restricted projects to areas with infrastructure capable of supporting them.
Officials say the listening sessions provide residents with a direct opportunity to share their priorities and ideas for how the industry can contribute to the community.
The sessions are scheduled as follows:
Wednesday, February 4, 6:30 p.m. at Winchester Hall, 12 East Church Street, Frederick.
Thursday, February 12, 6:30 p.m. at St. Joseph on Carrollton Manor, 5843 Manor Woods Road, Frederick.
Residents may speak for up to three minutes and can sign up in advance online at FrederickCountyMD.gov/CommunityBenefits or on-site the day of the event. Those unable to attend may submit written comments at the same website. Both sessions will be recorded and posted online.
