Nyzeir Sampson
Frederick, Md. (DG) – In Frederick County Circuit Court, 29‑year‑old Nyzeir Tacwon Sampson was sentenced to a 30‑year prison term for a 2025 drive‑by shooting that seriously wounded two men, authorities said. Sampson’s sentence requires him to serve 12 years in prison.
The violent incident unfolded on April 28, 2025, when surveillance video and police investigation showed Sampson firing multiple shots from a Jeep at two victims in the Windsor Garden Apartments in Frederick. Both men were struck by gunfire and flown to a trauma center in Baltimore for treatment; they survived but declined to cooperate with investigators.
Sampson pleaded guilty to attempted second‑degree murder, first‑degree assault and possession of a loaded handgun as part of his sentencing.
He was already on supervised probation in another jurisdiction at the time of the shooting,
