Finksburg, Md. (DG) – A routine traffic stop in Carroll County has led to serious drug charges after deputies say they uncovered a significant amount of suspected narcotics.
It happened just after 2:30 last Wednesday afternoon, April 15th, along Baltimore Boulevard in Finksburg, where members of the Sheriff’s Office PACE Team, along with Westminster Police, pulled over a vehicle for failing to move over in an active work zone. Deputies say the car turned out to be a ride-share, and the passenger-identified as 42-year-old Maurice James Harrison of Baltimore City-quickly became the focus of the investigation.
A K9 scan alerted to possible drugs, and a search revealed multiple baggies of suspected fentanyl and cocaine, totaling about 1.8 ounces. Authorities say the packaging is consistent with distribution. Harrison was arrested, taken to the Carroll County Detention Center, and is being held without bond facing multiple drug charges.
