Leesburg, VA (DG) – A wanted man from Pennsylvania is in custody after fleeing from officers and assaulting a police officer in Leesburg.
Police responded to the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road Northeast for reports of a man banging on a residence door. When officers arrived, they identified the suspect as 37-year-old Ervin Lansdown Jr., who was wanted on a probation violation out of Pennsylvania.
Authorities say Lansdown ran from officers, leading to a brief foot pursuit before he was taken into custody. During the arrest, he resisted and assaulted an officer.
The injured officer was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries and has since been released. Lansdown was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and charged with assault on law enforcement and fleeing from law enforcement. He is being held without bond.
