Multiple felony and misdemeanor indictments were handed down Thursday by a Frederick County, Virginia grand jury involving alleged shootings, weapons offenses, and child cruelty cases.
Prosecutors say 20-year-old Elijah Stout-Griffin faces charges connected to a February road rage incident, including shooting at an occupied vehicle and use of a firearm in a felony. Authorities also indicted 57-year-old Lawrence Shifflett after an alleged lengthy standoff with deputies that resulted in charges of assault on a law enforcement officer and brandishing a firearm.
Meanwhile, Winchester resident 46-year-old Christopher Haymond faces charges ranging from child cruelty and animal cruelty to DWI resulting in serious injury and reckless driving.
