Frederick, MD (JK) – Residents in the City of Frederick should expect several service changes and office closures for the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, May 26, 2025.
City offices will be closed, and there will be no residential trash collection on Memorial Day. Residents who normally place trash out Sunday night for Monday pickup should instead place it out Monday evening for Tuesday collection. All other trash routes will run as scheduled.
There will also be no yard waste collection Monday for Neighborhood Advisory Councils 6 and 7. Service will resume June 2nd. Commercial downtown trash collection will continue as normal, but commercial recycling service will resume Wednesday, May 28th.
The Department of Housing and Human Services, including the food bank, will be closed for the holiday, while the Community Table will remain open on its regular schedule.
The Talley Recreation Center will be closed Sunday and Monday. Parking meters and city garages will be free on Memorial Day.
Frederick County residents are also encouraged to check county recycling and landfill holiday schedules here for possible service changes.
