Rockville, MD (JK) – A Montgomery County jury has convicted 20-year-old Jorden Hungerford in the 2025 murder of Henry Krishawn Gilbert of Montgomery Village.
Following a ten-day trial the jury found Hungerford guilty on May 18, of first-degree murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Prosecutors say the case stemmed from the April 26, 2025 killing of Gilbert on Brookridge Court in Gaithersburg. Police discovered the 20-year-old victim dead inside a green Honda Civic that had struck a curb with the engine still running. Investigators determined Gilbert had been shot in the head while sitting inside the vehicle.
According to the Montgomery County Police Homicide Unit investigation, Hungerford posed as a female friend of Gilbert through social media messages and arranged to buy 70 dollars worth of marijuana from him. Authorities say Hungerford and co-defendant Demari Brown then arrived at the location, robbed Gilbert, and shot him.
21-year-old Brown of Montgomery Village, previously pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and is scheduled to be sentenced on September 1. He also faces the possibility of life in prison.
Hungerford faces a potential sentence of life in prison plus an additional 60 years. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled at a later date.
