Maryland State Police are investigating a homicide after an inmate was found dead inside Roxbury Correctional Institution in Washington County.
Police say 32-year-old Colin Wolf of Bel Air was discovered unresponsive in his prison cell late Wednesday night, May 20th, and was later pronounced dead by emergency responders. Investigators believe Wolf’s cellmate was inside the cell at the time of his death and has been identified as a suspect, though authorities are withholding the inmate’s name until charges are filed.
Wolf’s body has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. State police homicide investigators are working alongside the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Internal Investigative Unit. Once completed, the case will be reviewed by prosecutors in Washington County.
Wolf had been serving a 30-year sentence after pleading guilty to the 2013 murder of his two-month-old niece, Aubree Roberts.
