Hagerstown, MD (JK) – An 18-year-old Gwynn Oak man is facing felony drug charges after a surveillance operation conducted by the Washington County Narcotics Task Force in Hagerstown.
According to authorities, agents were conducting surveillance in the area of Jonathan Street and Murph Avenue during the late evening hours of June 2 when they made contact with a male suspect. Investigators say the individual fled on foot but was apprehended a short time later.
The suspect was identified as Harry Thames, 18, of Gwynn Oak, Maryland.
Authorities report that Thames was found in possession of 212.4 grams of cocaine and $1,262 in cash. He was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
Thames has been charged with possession with intent to distribute a narcotic and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
The Washington County Narcotics Task Force is a joint unit made up of members of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Hagerstown Police Department.
