A Frederick County judge has sentenced a Frederick man to 14 years in prison for a violent series of crimes involving domestic abuse and drug possession.
Thirty-five-year-old Ever Gomez was sentenced Monday after being convicted of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and violating probation.
The case began in October 2025 when police and sheriff’s deputies investigated two separate reports of domestic violence involving the same victim. Authorities say the victim suffered significant injuries and described repeated physical abuse and strangulation. During the investigation, deputies learned Gomez had multiple active warrants. He was arrested and taken to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, where methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found during a search.
