Frederick, MD (JK) – The Frederick County Board of Education has approved new contracts with its three employee bargaining units, completing negotiations before the start of the new fiscal year for the fourth straight year.
The agreements with the Frederick County Association of School Support Employees (FASSE), the Frederick County Teachers Association (FCTA), and the Frederick County Administrative and Supervisory Association (FCASA) were ratified by union members and signed at the Board’s June 24 meeting. The contracts take effect July 1.
All eligible employees will receive a step increase.
Teachers represented by FCTA will also receive a 1.55 percent cost-of-living adjustment. Administrators represented by FCASA will receive a 0.3 percent COLA, while employees at the top of the salary scale will receive a one-time $2,000 stipend. FASSE members will receive a $1,200 one-time stipend for employees on Step 21, along with changes to starting pay and longevity compensation.
The teachers’ contract runs through June 30, 2028. The support staff and administrator agreements remain in effect through June 30, 2031, with limited opportunities for annual revisions.
School officials say the agreements reflect ongoing efforts to support employees and maintain stability across Frederick County Public Schools.
