Gaithersburg, MD (JK) – A Montgomery County man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a 37-year-old woman found inside a Gaithersburg apartment.
Montgomery County Police say 39-year-old Sean Robinson was arrested June 25 in the death of Ashlei Jones.
Officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the 8500 block of Snouffer School Road on June 21 after receiving a report of a working code. They found Jones inside the apartment suffering from trauma to her upper body. Despite lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined Jones died from multiple sharp force injuries and ruled her death a homicide.
Investigators determined Robinson and Jones lived together in the apartment. Detectives executed a search warrant at the residence, where they recovered evidence that led to an arrest warrant charging Robinson with first-degree murder.
Robinson was taken into custody on June 25 and remains held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit awaiting a bond hearing.
